When cleaning the Pad ASSY, take care to prevent the cloth from catching on the metallic parts. Metallic parts The portion to clean q ADF glass surfaces (x 2: located on the ADF and the opposite side) Clean lightly. HINT If the glass is dirty, vertical black streaks may appear in the scanned images. q Plastic rollers (x 4) Clean them lightly while rotating the rollers with your finger. Take care not to roughen the surface of the rollers. Take particular care in cleaning the plastic rollers since black debris on the rollers adversely affect the pickup performance. q Pick roller (x 1) Lightly clean the Pick roller taking care not to scratch the roller surfaces and the Mylar sheet. Take particular care in cleaning this roller as black debris on it adversely affect the pickup performance. Turn off the scanner before cleaning the following locations.
Pad ASSY (x 1)
Wipe the Pad ASSY (rubber surface) downwards. When cleaning the Pad ASSY, take care to prevent
the cloth from catching on the metallic parts.
Metallic parts
The portion to
