EBSU fails when flashing an Emulex 4 Gb HBA Issue EBSU cannot flash the Emulex 4 Gb Host Bus Adapter (HBA) to the latest firmware and EFI version, if the current EFI Driver flashed to the Emulex 4 Gb controller is version 5.02A1. Servers All Integrity Workaround 1. Exit EBSU. 2. Unload all Emulex drivers using the EFI shell unload command. 3. Run EBSU again. ESBU can lose mapping of drives connected to QLogic controllers Issue In some cases, EBSU may lose the mapping of disk drives attached to QLogic controllers. Servers All Integrity Workaround Use Maintain Firmware to flash the QLogic controller to the latest firmware. After reboot the system, EBSU detects and configures the disk drives attached to the QLogic controller. Express Setup fails when launched from EBSU Issue The OS installer fails when launched by EBSU if the DVD drive is attached to a U320 controller. Servers All Integrity Workaround 1. Exit EBSU. 2. Put the OS media in the DVD drive. 3. From the EFI Shell, issue the reconnect -r command followed by the map -r command. 4. Run the OS installer. Fibre Channel Error message during system boot Issue On a system with an Emulex LPe1205-HP 8 Gb Mezzanine card, during system boot, a VOLTAGE_DEGRADES_TO_NON_RECOVERABLE message is posted in the System Event Log (SEL). You can view this message with the SL command under the MP menu. Servers HP Integrity BL860c Server Blade and BL870c Server Blade Workaround This is only an alert message. The function and performance on the Mezzanine card are not adversely affected. No actions are needed. Target LUN and boot controller WWN not visible in a VC environment Issue When installing to storage attached to an Emulex LPe1105 mezzanine controller (403621-B21) in a Virtual Connect (VC) environment through a Brocade switch, the target LUN is not visible and the WWN for the boot controller is not visible in the zone in the switch administrative tool. Servers HP Integrity BL860c Server Blade and BL870c Server Blade Workaround Write down and save the controller World-Wide Number (WWN) when installing it into the system, or obtain it from the VC manager or EFI utility. Then, manually enter the WWN into the desired zone on the switch when configuring the zone. Scan for targets and continue with the usual installation steps to boot from the controller.
