Chapter 5 Updating Firmware 7. Click Exit and press Enter to exit HP NetServer Navigator and restart the NetServer. If the NetServer does not restart, turn off the NetServer power, wait 10 seconds, and turn on power again. NOTE HP DiagTools Diskette #1 contains a readme file of release notes. View the readme file to look for the most recent information about DiagTools. Run the Basic System Test Running the Basic System Test has two parts: l In Configuration Detection, DiagTools identifies all installed components. l The Basic System Test gives pass/fail results on each detected component. To run the Basic System Test: 1. Insert HP DiagTools Diskette #1 and restart the NetServer if you haven't done so already. The Welcome screen appears. 2. Press F2 and follow the instructions on the screen to begin Configuration Detection. HP DiagTools scans the NetServer and identifies all installed components, such as processors, memory, and SCSI devices. 3. Scroll through the list of detected components, and make note of any items that were not detected. HP DiagTools cannot test components it has not detected. NOTE HP DiagTools does not list the CD-ROM drive on the Configuration Detection screen, but it shows up in the Support Ticket and can be tested using the Advanced System tests. HP DiagTools is not designed to handle hot swapping. If you hot swap any components while HP DiagTools is running, you must restart DiagTools and perform a new Configuration Detection. 36
