Chapter 6 Installing Additional Boards 9. If you have finished working with the satellite chassis, slide it back onto the base chassis and lock it in place. (See Chapter 3.) Installing Processor Boards This section describes the installation of the 200 MHz/1 MB Processor Board Accessory Kit in HP NetServer LXr Pro8 systems. The processor board includes two 200 MHz/1 MB CPU chips, on which two heat pipes are mounted for efficient cooling. The HP NetServer LXr Pro8 comes standard with one 200 MHz/1MB processor board and three terminator boards installed. You can install up to three additional processor boards For more information about the processor board, see the HP NetServer LXr Pro8 200 MHz/1 MB Processor Board Upgrade Guide. Verify Contents CAUTION Do not remove the processor board from its bag until you are ready to install it. Make sure the bag remains sealed. The CPU chips are sensitive to humidity, so desiccant has been packed in the bag containing the processor board. When the processor board has been installed and the HP NetServer is running, the chips are no longer sensitive to humidity. Unpack the shipping box and verify that you received the contents listed below for the 200 MHz/1 MB Processor Board Accessory Kit. The upgrade kit should include: • Processor board - shown in Figure 6-3. NOTE Be sure to keep the bag around the processor board sealed until you are ready to install the board. • HP NetServer LXr Pro8 200 MHz/1 MB Processor Board Upgrade Guide. • Update Return Kit that explains how to return unused terminator boards to HP for environmentally safe disposal. 48
