Chapter 7 Mounting the Server in the Rack NOTE The HP NetServer comes with a cardboard reference template (HP Part Number 5183-3730) that guides you in placing the nuts on the rack columns. The template is similar to Figure 7-4, but it is full-scale. 2. Repeat the procedure on the left front column of the rack. Step 3: Placing the HP NetServer in the Rack CAUTION The satellite chassis and base chassis combined weigh more than 160 pounds. To lighten the load and avoid accidents, detach the satellite chassis from the base chassis and remove the base chassis' power supplies. Mount the base chassis alone into the rack, then reattach the satellite chassis and reinstall the power supplies. At least three people must be on hand to move or lift the base and satellite into place. Failure to observe this warning could result in serious injury to you or damage to the HP NetServer 1. If the front bezel is installed on the HP NetServer, remove it. 2. If the HP NetServer's satellite chassis is attached to the base chassis, detach it and put it aside for now. See Chapter 3 for instructions. WARNING To prevent the rack from rolling while you mount the HP NetServer, make sure that the leveler screws on the rack's lower four corners are in firm contact with the floor. 3. With the help of at least one other person, lift the base chassis carefully. 4. Facing the front of the rack, place the rear of the base chassis on the rails. 63
