You can connect an external display device to your OmniBook. For example, you can connect a VGA projection panel, a VGA display, a television, or an SVHS VCR. The OmniBook supports either PAL or NTSC video modes when connected to a television. To connect an external monitor 1. Make sure the external monitor supports VGA, super VGA, or XGA format. 2. Plug the VGA cable from the external display into the SVGA-out connector at the back of the OmniBook. The OmniBook automatically recognizes and activates the external monitor. The built-in display normally turns off to conserve power and backlight life-but if you keep it on, you may notice a slight dimming while the external display is connected. To change the display type The default display setting provides optimum performance for the OmniBook display. However, in certain situations, you may want to select different display options instead. 1. Click Start, HP User Tools, Setup, Display, Settings. 2. If you only want to change the resolution (for example, 640x480), use the Desktop area slider. 3. If you want to change monitor types, click Change Display Type. 61

To connect an external monitor
