OmniBook. Keep the distance within about 3 feet (1 meter) for optimum performance. For example, to establish a connection to another OmniBook 1. Align the two infrared devices to communicate. 2. Click Start, Programs, Accessories, Direct Cable Connection on each computer. One computer must be the "host," and the other computer must be the "guest." To print on an infrared printer To connect to an infrared (IrDA-compatible) printer, set the OmniBook printer port to be the infrared printer port, LPT3. See "To change a printer's settings." You can print to an infrared printer only while Windows and the Infrared Monitor are running. The Infrared Monitor provides visual status for infrared communications and helps you resolve infrared communication problems. To start the Infrared Monitor • Click Start, Infrared. Use the tabs in the infrared window to set options. You can disable infrared printing by unchecking the Enable infrared communication box in the Options tab.
