Removing the air baffle CAUTION: For proper cooling, do not operate the server without the access panel, baffles, expansion slot covers, or blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components, minimize the amount of time the access panel is open. To remove the component: 1. Power down the server (see Powering down the server on page 16). 2. Remove all power: a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source. b. Disconnect each power cord from the server. 3. Extend the server from the rack (see Extending the server from the rack on page 17). 4. Remove the access panel (see Removing the access panel on page 18). CAUTION: Do not detach the cable that connects the battery pack to the cache module. Detaching the cable causes any unsaved data in the cache module to be lost. 5. Remove the air baffle. Removing the air baffle
CAUTION:

covers, or blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components, minimize the amount of time the
access panel is open.
To remove the component:
1.
Power down the server (see

).
2.
Remove all power:
a.
Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b.
Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3.
Extend the server from the rack (see
Extending the server from the rack
on page

).
4.
Remove the access panel (see
Removing the access panel
on page

).
CAUTION:
Do not detach the cable that connects the battery pack to the cache module. Detaching the

5.
Remove the air baffle.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
