System board NOTE: The system board spare part kit includes replacement thermal materials. Description System board with AMD A6-6310 processor (includes replacement thermal materials) Spare part number 817894-001 Before removing the system board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 24). 5. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 25). 6. Remove the hard drive (see Solid-state drive, 2.5-inch on page 28). NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board: ● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 32) ● Memory module (see Memory module on page 34) ● M.2 solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive, M.2 on page 30) To remove the system board: 1. Remove the display and antenna cables by disconnecting the display cable from the system board (1). 2. Disconnect the antenna cable from the WLAN module (2). 3. Remove the cables from the clips in the middle of the computer (3). 4. Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
off
or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by
first
unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see

).
5.
Remove the bottom cover (see

6.
Remove the hard drive (see
