1 INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS ■■Installing an antenna To obtain maximum performance from the transceiver, select a high-quality antenna and mount it in a good location. Antenna location Roof-mount antenna (Drill a hole or use a magnetic mount.) Trunk-mount antenna Gutter-mount antenna Connect the coaxial cable that the antenna is connected to the antenna connector on the rear panel of the main unit. Main unit Antenna connector NOTE: ••Make the coaxial cable as short as possible. ••Be sure to seal the antenna connection. 5 BASIC MANUAL DDAbout the antenna For radio communications, the antenna is of critically importance, along with output power and receiver sensitivity. Select a well-matched 50 Ω antenna and coaxial cable feedline. We recommend 1.5:1 or better Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) on your operating bands. DDAbout the internal duplexer The transceiver has an internal duplexer, and you can easily connect a dual band antenna (VHF/UHF). Installing an antenna
To obtain maximum performance from the transceiver, select
a high-quality antenna and mount it in a good location.
Antenna location
NOTE:
• Make the coaxial cable as short as possible.
• Be sure to seal the antenna connection.

About the antenna
For radio communications, the antenna is of critically
importance, along with output power and receiver sensitivity.
Select a well-matched 50 Ω antenna and coaxial cable

About the internal duplexer
The transceiver has an internal duplexer, and you can easily
connect a dual band antenna (VHF/UHF).
