■■Transmitting DDTransmitting on an Amateur band Before transmitting, monitor the operating frequency to make sure transmitting won't cause interference to other stations on the same frequency. CAUTION: DO NOT transmit without an antenna. This may damage the transceiver. NOTE: You can transmit on only the amateur band frequencies. 1. Rotate [DIAL] to set the operating frequency. (p. 23) 2. Push [QUICK]. 3. Rotate [DIAL] to select "TX Power," then push [ï]. ••Opens the TX Power Select window. 4. Select the transmit output power level, then push [ï]. LLSelect a level to suit your operating requirements. LLWhen you select high power, the power icon disappears. 5. Hold down [PTT] to transmit, and speak at your normal voice level. ••Displays while transmitting. ••The S/RF meter displays the output power level. 6. Release [PTT] to receive.
