3 BASIC OPERATION ■■Selecting the Mode DDVFO mode You use the VFO mode to set the operating frequency. DDMemory mode You use the Memory mode to operate on Memory channels. Selecting the Mode

VFO mode
You use the VFO mode to set the operating frequency.

Memory mode
You use the Memory mode to operate on Memory channels.

You use the Call channel mode to operate on the Call
channels.

Push [V/M] several times until you enter the VFO or
Memory mode.
• In the Memory mode,
and the selected Memory channel
number are displayed.

• Pushing [V/M] toggles between the VFO and Memory modes.
• To enter the Call channel mode, hold down [CALL] for 1
second.
• In the Call channel mode, “144 C0,” “144 C1,” “430 C0,” or
“433 C1” is displayed.
• In the Call channel mode, push [CALL] to cancel the mode.
