Lock code You'll need the lock code to activate and deactivate Phone Lock (see page 62), or to change your lock code. The default lock code is 1234 (or the last four digits of your phone number, depending on your service provider). If you enter an incorrect lock code five times in a row, your phone will prompt you for the security code (see page 70). Changing your lock code In a lock code, only numeric characters are accepted. 1. Enter Menu 4-3-2-3 (Settings - Security settings Access codes - Change lock code). 2. Enter lock code at Enter lock code: and press OK. 3. Enter new lock code, press OK. 4. Verify new lock code, press OK. Note: When you change your lock code, make sure you store it in a safe place, away from your phone. Avoid entering access codes similar to emergency numbers to prevent accidental emergency calls. Manual touch tones This setting determines how long touch tones are produced as you press the keys on the keypad. Note that touch tones are sometimes called DTMF tones. Note: See "Touch tone length" on page 74 for details. Setting manual touch tones Press Menu 4-2-3-1 (Settings - Phone settings - Touch tones - Manual touch tones) and highlight one of the following options, then press OK. Continuous means the tone sounds for as long as you press and hold the key. Fixed sets the tone length to .1 second, regardless of how long you press the key. Off turns the tones off, and no tones will be sent when you press the keys. 46
