Setting External decoder Parameters When a Dolby Surround Digital Decoder with the AC-3 format developed by Dolby Laboratories Inc. TX-SV919THX is connected, it can be used as a power amplifier that is able to adjust the levels of the Front Left, Center, Right, Left Surround, Right Surround and Subwoofer speakers by connecting the decoder's analog output to the external decoder input terminal on the TX-SV919THX (The Subwoofer is the Pre out). Connect the Dolby Surround Digital Decoder. 2. Adjust the settings on the Decoder according to the Decoder's instruction manual. 3. Adjust the TX-SV919THX's External Decoder Input setting. Operating with the main unit 1. Select External Decoder. C3CI 2. Set External Decoder ON. c.r.WklUA ov 3. Next, use the MASTER VOLUME to set the volume to desired listening position. 4. Turn the Subwoofer ON or OFF. The Subwoofer is normally set to ON. (See page 32) 5. Select the Low/High Pass Filter ON or OFF. (See page 32) 6. Turn on the Test Tone on the Dolby Surround Digital Decoder and adjust the level of the Left, Center, Right, Right Surround, Left Surround speakers, and subwoofer pre out level. 7. Turn off the test tone. Operating with the cursor on the screen using the remote control 1. Move the cursor to System Setup. (See page 31) 2. Press the ENTER/ESCAPE key to call the menu screen. 3. Move the cursor to External Decoder. 4. Press the ENTER/ESCAPE key and set the External Decoder ON. 5. Next, use the MASTER VOLUME to set the volume to the desired listening position. 6. Turn the Subwoofer ON or OFF. The Subwoofer is normally set to ON. 7. Select the Low/High Pass Filter ON or OFF. 8. Pressing the ENTER/ESCAPE key on the remote con- trol brings you the menu screen. NOTES: • The procedure for adjusting the settings for the TX-SV919THX may differ depending on the specifications for the Dolby Surround Digital Decoder being used. • A source can be selected using the Input SELECTOR buttons if the external decorder is turned off. • You are not able to record from the external decoder to Tape-1 or 2 or Video-1, 2 or 3. ** Externa l Decoder ** Externa l Decoder = ON ODD4.7. the
test
tone.
Operating
with
the

remote
control

Move
the
cursor
to
System

the
cursor
to
External
Decoder.

the
Subwoofer
ON

OFF.
The

you

The
