The System Setup menu 06 English Deutsch Français Italiano Nederlands Español Chapter 6: The System Setup menu Using the System Setup menu The following section shows you how to make detailed settings to specify how you're using the receiver, and also explains how to fine-tune individual speaker system settings to your liking. Use the RECEIVER button to switch on.1 2 Press RECEIVER on the remote control, then press the SETUP button.2 An on-screen display (OSD) appears on your TV. Use / / / and ENTER on the remote control to navigate through the screens and select menu items. Press RETURN to confirm and exit the current menu. 3 Select the setting you want to adjust. System Setup 1.Auto MCACC 2.Manual MCACC 3.Manual SP Setup 4.Input Assign 5.Other Setup System Setup 1.Auto MCACC 2.Manual MCACC 3.Manual SP Setup 4.Input Assign : Exit : Exit Above: VSX-918V (left) and VSX-818V (right) • Auto MCACC - This is a quick and effective automatic surround setup (see Automatically setting up for surround sound (MCACC) on page 8). • Manual MCACC - Fine tune your speaker settings and customize the Acoustic Calibration EQ (see Manual MCACC speaker setup below). • Manual SP Setup - Specify the size, number, distance and overall balance of the speakers you've connected (see Manual speaker setup on page 42). • Input Assign - Specify what you've connected to the digital, component video and HDMI inputs (see The Input Assign menu on page 64). • Other Setup (VSX-918V model only) - Make customized settings to reflect how you are using the receiver (see The Other Setup menu on page 66). Manual MCACC speaker setup You can use the settings in the Manual MCACC setup menu to make detailed adjustments when you're more familiar with the system. Before making these settings, you should have already completed Automatically setting up for surround sound (MCACC) on page 8. You only need to make these settings once (unless you change the placement of your current speaker system or add new speakers). Note 1 If headphones are connected to the receiver, disconnect them. 2 • You can't use the System Setup menu when the iPod, XM Radio, SIRIUS Radio or PORTABLE input is selected. • Press SETUP at any time to exit the System Setup menu. • The OSD will not appear if you have connected using the HDMI output to your TV. Use component or composite connections for system setup. 37 En
