Text, symbols, and numbers Text, symbols, and numbers You can enter text, numbers and symbols into messages, form fields, interactive applications, games, and on the Internet. Enter text using T9 There are 2 methods for entering text; T9 and Multi-tap. Multitap is the conventional method of entering text, while T9 uses advanced software to greatly increase writing speed. Activate T9 • While at any text entry screen, press and hold until t9, T9, or T9 appears in the upper right corner of the display. T9 modes Each of T9's three modes is indicated by the following icons in the upper right corner of the display. T9 - Uppercase. Any words that you enter will be in uppercase, or all capital letters. T9 - Initial caps. Only the first word of each sentence is in capital letters. t9 - Lowercase. Any words that you enter will be in lower case letters. • To cycle through T9 modes, briefly press in T9 mode. while 59
