recording options Anti-Shake (HDIS) When you use zoom to record a magnified subject image, Anti-Shake corrects fuzziness in the recorded image. 1. Press the MENU button Control button ( / ) "Anti-Shake (HDIS)." 2. Select the desired submenu item with the Control button ( / ) OK button. 3. Press the MENU button to exit the menu. Submenu items • Off: Disables the function. • On ( ): Compensates for unstable images caused by camcorder-shake, particularly at high magnification. STBY 0:00:00 [475Min] Anti-Shake (HDIS) Off On Exit STBY 0:00:00 [475Min] 9999 Anti-Shake (HDIS) provides a more stable image when you: • Record while zooming • Record small objects • Record while walking or moving • Record through the window of a moving vehicle • Smart Auto mode automatically sets "Anti-Shake (HDIS)" to "On." • When "Anti-Shake (HDIS)" is "On", is specified, there will be a slight difference between the actual movement and the movement on screen. • Large camcorder shake may not be entirely corrected even if "Anti-Shake (HDIS) : On" is specified. Firmly hold the camcorder with both hands. • We recommend that you turn "Anti-Shake (HDIS)" to "Off" when using the camcorder on a desk or tripod. • When you record photos with 10x or more magnification and the "Anti-Shake (HDIS)" is "On", in dim places, after-images may stand out. In this case, we recommend using a tripod (not supplied) and turning the "Anti-Shake (HDIS)" to "Off." 52
