Format Use this function if you want to delete all files completely or to correct problems on the storage media. 1. Press the Control button ( / ) "Format" OK button. • A message appears asking about formatting the memory card. 2. Select "Yes." • The format is executed with a message. 3. Also, be sure to use the provided AC adapter, as the recording medium may be corrupted if the battery becomes exhausted during formatting. • If the recording medium becomes corrupted, format it again. • Do not format the storage media on a PC or other device. Make sure to format the storage media on this camcorder. • Format the memory card in the following cases: - If the memory card is new and has never been used. - If the memory card has been formatted by or recorded on by other devices - If this camcorder cannot read the memory card • A memory card with the protection tab set to lock can not be formatted. • If there is no storage media inserted, it can not be selected and it will be dimmed on the menu. File No. File numbers are assigned to recorded files in the order they were recorded. 1. Press the Control button ( / ) "File No." OK button. 2. Select the desired submenu item with the Control button ( / ) OK button. 3. Press the MENU button to exit the menu. The file number is reset when a new folder is created. • Reset: Resets the file number to 0001 even after you've formatted the card, deleted all the files, or inserted a new memory card. Format
Use this function if you want to delete all files completely or to correct problems on the storage media.
Do not remove the recording medium or perform any other operation (such as turning off the
power) during formatting. Also, be sure to use the provided AC adapter, as the recording medium
may be corrupted if the battery becomes exhausted during formatting.
If the recording medium becomes corrupted, format it again.
