8 Chapter Maintenance and Inspection 8-1 Removing a Cassette When Tape Slack Occurs If tape slack occurs in the unit, it is necessary to remove the top and bottom plates. This job should always be entrusted to a technician who has undergone service training. See the maintenance manual for details. 8-2 Head Cleaning To clean the video heads and audio heads, always use the special-purpose Sony BCT-HD12CL cleaning cassette. Follow the instructions with the cleaning cassette carefully, as inappropriate use of the cleaning cassette can damage the heads. To carry out head cleaning Insert the cleaning cassette. Head cleaning starts. Head Cleaning
To clean the video heads and audio heads, always use
the special-purpose Sony BCT-HD12CL cleaning
cassette.
