The chart below provides a general estimate of time required to record for Sony devices. Recording HD (High Definition) video (Time required to copy a 1-hour video in SP mode on a disc) Camcorder connected via a USB cable (Media other than 8cm disc) approx. 15 minutes Camcorder connected via a USB cable (8cm disc) approx. 30 minutes Recording SD (Standard Definition) video (Time required to copy a 1-hour video in SP mode on a disc) Memory card slot on DVDirect approx. 30 minutes Camcorder connected via a USB cable (Media other than 8cm disc) approx. 15 minutes Camcorder connected via a USB cable (8cm disc) approx. 30 minutes Memory card slot on DVDirect approx. 30 minutes z Hint • When a camcorder is connected to the DV IN, VIDEO IN or S VIDEO IN connector on the DVDirect, the length of time required for recording is the same as the playback time of the video. b Note • You cannot record HD (High Definition) video taken in REC mode at a bit rate exceeding 18Mbps, such as in [HD FX] mode (for example, High Definition Handycam®) in AVCHD format. For REC mode or bit rate, refer to the operating instructions of your camera. 76
