Populating the topology database 107 Adding nodes and objects Adding or editing Smart Agent interface objects The Network Security console provides a way to add and edit Smart Agent interface objects on the topology tree. To add or edit a Smart Agent interface object 1 On the Devices tab, do one of the following: ■ Right-click the Smart Agent object for which you want to create an interface, and click Add Smart Agent Interface from the pop-up menu. ■ Right-click an existing Smart Agent Interface object, and click Edit from the pop-up menu. 2 In Add Smart Agent Interface or Edit Smart Agent Interface, enter a descriptive name. See "Name" on page 77. 3 Enter an optional customer ID of up to 40 characters long. See "Customer IDs" on page 77. 4 Enter the IP address for the interface. 5 Enter the netmask for the interface. 6 In Description, enter an optional description of up to 255 characters, and click OK. See "Description" on page 77. Caution: Click Topology > Save Changes before quitting the Network Security console. You will lose any unsaved changes when you exit. ■ See "Defining new protection policies" on page 120.
