Vertical Deletions Troubleshooting Procedure (cont'd.) Step Actions and Questions Yes No 4 Inspect the paper path, between feed and exit, for contamination or obstructions. Is the paper path free of obstructions? Go to step 5. Remove obstructions or contamination from the paper path. 5 Inspect the Transfer Roller Assembly for contamination Go to step 6. Open the fuser jam access cover. 4. Rotate the fuser idler gear manually and inspect the Pressure Roller. Are the Heat Roller and the Pressure Roller free of surface defects and contamination? 7 Replace in order until the problem is solved: I Transfer Roller Assembly (RRP 7.1 on page 6-79) I Laser Assembly (RRP 7.4 on page 6-82) I Fuser Assembly (RRP 6.2 on page 6-66) I Engine Logic Board (RRP 9.3 on page 6-89) 3-60 Phaser 4400 Laser Printer Service Manual
