ADOBE INDESIGN CS PAGEMAKER EDITION 55 User Guide Supplement If the creep value in this example is 24 points, the creep increment will be 8 points per sheet (24 divided by 3). The amount of creep applied to the outermost sheet will be 24 points, the amount of creep applied to the second sheet will be 16 points, and the amount of creep applied to the third sheet will be 8 points. No creep will be applied to the fourth and innermost sheet. The amount of creep for each successive sheet is decreased by the creep increment. In summary, each page on the outermost sheet is moved 12 points (half of the 24-point creep value for this sheet) away from the spine, each page on the second sheet is moved 8 points (half of the 16-point creep value for this sheet) away from the spine, and each page on the third sheet is moved 4 points (half of the 8-point creep value for this sheet) away from the spine. InBooklet printing options Printing with InBooklet differs only slightly from printing with the standard Print dialog box settings. The primary difference is that the page marks you normally specify in the Print dialog box are specified in the InBooklet Printing panel. (Service providers use these page marks to align separation films when producing contract proofs, measure film for correct calibration and dot density, and trim film to size.) By default, InDesign draws page marks 3 points from the edge of a specified bleed, or 3 points from the edge of the trimmed page. Select the following options in the Printing panel in the InBooklet dialog box. Once you specify these options and click Print, you will enter the standard InDesign Print dialog box. (For information on printing documents, see InDesign Help.) Spreads To print all the printer spreads shown in the Preview panel's Spread menu, click All. To print selected spreads, click Range, and then specify the spread numbers. Use hyphens to print consecutive spread numbers, and commas for nonadjacent spreads. Crop Marks Select to add fine (hairline) horizontal and vertical rules that define where the page should be trimmed. Crop marks can also help register (align) one color separation to another. Registration Marks Select to add small targets outside the page area for aligning the different separations in a color document. Bleed Marks Select to add fine (hairline) rules that define the amount of extra area to image outside the defined page size. Gray Bars Select to add small squares representing tints of gray (in 10% increments). Your service provider uses these marks to adjust the ink density of the printing press. Color Bars Select to add small squares of color representing the CMYK inks. Your service provider uses these marks to adjust the ink density of the printing press.
