ADOBE INDESIGN CS PAGEMAKER EDITION 71 User Guide Supplement 3 Select one of the following options: • Select Prompt for Name and Category. This option causes InDesign to open a dialog box whenever you save a file as a template. In the dialog box you'll specify a template name and category (you can even create a new category at that time). • Select Use File Name and Add to This Category. This option lets you create templates without opening any additional dialog boxes. InDesign will simply use the document's filename as the template name, and add the template to the category you specify. Searching for templates You can perform searches in the Template Browser palette based on template metadata or other information. You can run very specific searches by adding criteria limiters (is, contains, does not contain, starts with, and ends with) to narrow your search. Criteria limiters let you precisely target what you are looking for in your search. To search for a template: 1 Do one of the following: • Choose Search from the Template Browser palette menu. • Click the Search button . 2 Select the category type from the Look In menu. 3 Select the criteria that you want to set. For example, if you are searching for a file that is greater than 100KB, you would select File Size, Is Greater Than, and then enter 100KB in the text box. 4 Click the plus button to increase the accuracy of your search results. For example, you may be looking for a file that is greater than 100KB in size and contains the word halftone. 5 To remove search criteria, click the minus button . 6 When you have finished entering your search criteria, click Search. 7 The results of your search display in the Contents area of the Template Browser palette so you can navigate through the files. A tool tip is provided for each template listing the categories with which the file is associated. Finding a template using the Search dialog box
