Using the BJ Cartridges and Scanner Cartridge s Color BJ Cartridge BC-32 Photo This BJ Cartridge contains three photo colours: Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta, which are slightly lighter than ordinary Cyan and Magenta, and dye black. The combination of the Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta of the BJ Cartridge BC-32 Photo with the three colours of the BJ Cartridge BC-31 achieves the most spectacular photo-realistic effects in printed photographic images. The Color BJ Cartridge BC-32 Photo is composed of the print head and three replaceable ink tanks. When a colour runs out, only that colour's ink tank needs to be replaced. When you wish to use the printer as a scanner, install this scanner cartridge instead of a BJ Cartridge. Using the Scanner (¬ p.36) Caution For safety reasons, store BJ Cartridges and ink tanks out of the reach of small children. If a child inadvertently licks a BJ Cartridge or ink tank or ingests any ink, consult a physician immediately. Important • Do not leave an empty ink tank in a BJ Cartridge. Remove it immediately after ink runs out. • If a used ink tank which is still usable must be removed for some reason, keep the ink tank installed in the BJ Cartridge. Otherwise the ink will dry and print jobs may not be performed properly after the ink tank is installed again. Replacing the Ink Tanks (¬ p.30) Note For optimum print quality, an ink tank or BJ Cartridge should be used up within six months or a year respectively, after opening the original packaging. 25
