Replacing the BJ Cartridge If the print quality remains poor even after replacing the ink tanks and cleaning the print heads, the print heads are worn out and you must replace the BJ Cartridge. Note Canon recommends the following BJ Cartridges for use with this printer. Black BJ Cartridge BC-30 Color BJ Cartridge BC-31 Color BJ Cartridge BC-32 Photo 1 Make sure that the printer is switched on and open the front cover of the printer. The cartridge holder moves to the centre. Front cover 2 Raise the cartridge lock lever all the way up to unlock the BJ Cartridge. - If you are replacing the Black BJ Cartridge or Photo BJ Cartridge, raise the left cartridge lock lever. - If you are replacing the Color BJ Cartridge, raise the right cartridge lock lever. The illustration shows replacement of a Black BJ Cartridge. Important To avoid staining your hands, clothing, or areas in the work site, handle the BJ Cartridge carefully.
