4 Load the image you wish to scan in the auto sheet feeder of the printer. Place the image in the scanning holder. Insert the scanning holder in the auto sheet feeder of the printer. Important To prevent possible damage to the scanning holder, always insert the scanning holder into the auto sheet feeder with its top edge (seamed side) facing down. 5 Perform prescanning. Select Photo in the Scanning Mode box. Then select the most appropriate size to match the size of the image you wish to scan in Paper Size. Click the Prescan button. Select Photo in Scanning Mode. Select the most appropriate size to match the size of the image you wish to scan in Paper Size. Check the Prescan checkbox and click the OK button. After the scanning holder which contains the image you wish to scan is ejected from the paper output tray, the prescanned image is displayed in black and white. Make sure that the image you wish to scan is properly placed in the scanning area. 44
