Installing the IS Scan Software 6 When you wish to scan only a portion of the entire image, drag the mouse to specify the portion. Follow the procedure below. Œ Point to a corner of the rectangle for the area on the image you want to select.  Drag the mouse to the opposite corner of the rectangle. Ž Release the mouse button. The specified rectangle appears on the image. Note • When you wish to change the portion you specified, place the mouse pointer within the portion and drag the mouse to the desired position. • When you wish to cancel the portion you specified, follow the procedure below. Drag the mouse. Right-click on the image. The rectangle disappears and you can specify the portion of the image again. While pressing the Control key, click on the image. The rectangle disappears and you can specify the portion of the image again. 7 Load the image you wish to scan in the auto sheet feeder again. Be careful that the image does not move in the scanning holder. 8 Start scanning the image. After the scanning holder which contains the image is ejected from the paper output tray, the scanned image is displayed. Note When you scan printed images from books and magazines, the scanned image may appear to be shaded. To solve the problem, use a lower resolution setting and try again. 45

entire image, drag the mouse to specify the por-
tion.
Follow the procedure below.
Point to a corner of the rectangle for the area on the
image you want to select.
Drag the mouse to the opposite corner of the rectangle.
Release the mouse button.
The specified rectangle
appears on the image.
When you wish to change the portion you specified,

Right-click on the image.
The rectangle disap-
pears and you can specify the portion of the
image again.
