Before Using the Scanner Check the following items before using the scanner. s Color Image Scanner Cartridge IS-32 Using the Scanner Optical Components Install this scanner cartridge to use the printer as a scanner. Electrical contacts Important The scanner cartridge is composed of precision components. Do not touch the electrical contacts and optical components, such as lenses, to avoid poor scanning results, poor contact and static electricity. s White calibration sheet Used for maintaining the correct colour balance of scanned images. This white level calibration is needed when the scanner cartridge is used for the first time after purchase or when the system needs to update the white level calibration data. s Scanning holder Used for holding the image you wish to scan or the white calibration sheet. If you wish to scan images larger than the A5-size, scanning holders for other paper sizes may be optionally available depending on the country of purchase. s BJ Cartridge container Used for storing the Color Image Scanner Cartridge IS-32 or other BJ Cartridges when not in use. The BJ Cartridge container comes with the printer. (If you need additional containers, the BJ Cartridge container may be optionally available depending on the country of purchase.) s Paper size The following are guidelines for the scanning area. Please note that the scanning area also varies according to other conditions such as the scanning resolution and display resolution. Before Using the Scanner
Check the following items before using the scanner.
Color Image Scanner Cartridge IS-32
Install this scanner cartridge to use the printer as a scanner.
The scanner cartridge is composed of precision components.
Do not touch the electrical contacts
and optical components, such as lenses, to avoid poor scanning results, poor contact and static
electricity.
White calibration sheet
Used for maintaining the correct colour balance of scanned images.
This white level calibration is needed when the scanner cartridge is
used for the first time after purchase or when the system needs to
update the white level calibration data.
Scanning holder
Used for holding the image you wish to scan or the white calibration
sheet.
If you wish to scan images larger than the A5-size, scanning
holders for other paper sizes may be optionally available depending
on the country of purchase.
BJ Cartridge container
Used for storing the Color Image Scanner Cartridge IS-32 or other BJ
Cartridges when not in use.
The BJ Cartridge container comes with
