Installing Hardware Options 4-23 Installing Disk Drives SCSI ID Numbers for Internal Storage Configuration The ProLiant CL380 supports up to 14 hot-plug Ultra2 or Ultra3 hard drives in the internal storage area of the system. Each server node supports two hot-plug drives (SCSI IDs 0 and 1), and up to four hot-plug drives with the additional 2x1 drive cage option. The shared storage area supports up to six hot-plug drives (SCSI IDs 9 to 14). Figure 4-24 shows the SCSI IDs for each available drive bay. NOTE: When combining Ultra2 and Ultra3 hard drives in the shared storage area, all of the drives are limited to response times no faster than 40 MB/s, or the transfer rate of the slowest device. 10 12 14 9 11 13 1 0 LINK ACT 1 0 LINK ACT Figure 4-24.
