1-12 Compaq ProLiant CL380 User Guide Disk Controllers ProLiant CL380 Shared Storage Area The ProLiant CL380 comes equipped with one Shared Storage RAID Controller CR3500 and supports a second controller. The CR3500 RAID Controller supports speeds of up to 40 MB/s. It also supports up to 14 hot-plug hard drives (6 in the shared storage area plus an optional 8 hot-plug drives in an external shared storage unit). The optional Shared Storage RAID Controller CR3500 provides redundancy to the standard Shared Storage RAID Controller CR3500. Server Nodes The ProLiant CL380 comes equipped with one Dual-Channel Wide Ultra2 SCSI adapter in each server node. The Dual-Channel Wide Ultra2 SCSI adapter interfaces with the Shared Storage RAID Controller CR3500 to give the server nodes clustering capabilities. These controllers are capable of interface transfer rates of up to 80 MB/s. The embedded Integrated Smart Array Controller on the PCI local bus of each server node supports up to four hot-plug hard drives per node without utilizing an expansion slot. These adapters perform at a maximum rate of 80 MB/s. Network Controllers The ProLiant CL380 comes equipped with one Compaq NC3163 embedded Fast Ethernet WOL on the PCI local bus and one Compaq NC3123 Fast Ethernet NIC PCI 10/100 WOL controller in each server node.
