This information is used by Compaq Insight Manager to perform the following functions: Send fault condition alerts to a predetermined destination Monitor fault conditions and system performance Control system security and configuration Remotely control the system Initiate rapid recovery services Compaq ProLiant CL380 systems have a robust set of hardware subsystem management capabilities. Compaq System Configuration Utility The Compaq System Configuration Utility performs a wide range of configuration activities including: Configures PCI boards automatically Provides switch and jumper settings Resolves resource conflicts in areas such as memory, processor upgrades, and mass storage devices such as hard drives, tape drives, and diskette drives Sets and stores Power-On features such as date and time Stores operating system configuration information Assists in operating system installation Assists in running diagnostic tools such as TEST and INSPECT utilities The first time a server node is configured, the SmartStart program automatically creates a system partition and installs the System Configuration Utility and other Compaq utilities.
