3-4 Compaq ProLiant CL380 User Guide ProLiant CL380 Warnings and Precautions WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the hot-plug drives and the internal system components to cool before touching them. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment: Do not disable the power cord grounding plug. The grounding plug is an important safety feature. Plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed) electrical outlet that is easily accessible at all times. Unplug the power cord from each power supply to disconnect power to the equipment. 56-70 kg 124-155 lb WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the equipment: Observe local occupational health and safety requirements and guidelines for manual material handling. Obtain adequate assistance to lift and stabilize the chassis during installation or removal. The product will be unstable when not fastened to the rails. Remove all hot-plug power supplies, access panels, and drives to reduce the overall weight of the product. CAUTION: Protect the system from power fluctuations and temporary interruptions with a regulating uninterruptible power supply (UPS). This device protects the hardware from damage caused by power surges and voltage spikes and keeps the system in operation during a power failure. A UPS is designed to allow time for a graceful system shutdown after power interruption rather than an unexpected shutdown with the files open. CAUTION: The rack-mountable ProLiant CL380 must always be operated with the access panels on. Proper cooling will not be achieved if the system unit access panels are removed.
