Modular Ethernet Switch User's Guide This screen allows you to Enable or Disable Ingress filtering for each port. When a packet arrives at the port from the connected segment and Ingress filtering is Enabled, the port will check the VLAN ID number of the packet, and its own VID. If there is a match, the port will receive the packet for forwarding. If the packet doesn't have a VLAN tag or the port is not a member of the VLAN (doesn't have the same VID) as the packet, the packet will be discarded. Note: If a port is a member of a trunk group but is not the anchor, the items shown in the above table will be read-only and the values will be the same as those for the anchor port. Choose Configure Port VLAN ID (PVID) to access the second item on the 802.1Q VLAN Configuration menu. The following screen appears: Figure 6-38. Port VLAN (PVID) Assignment screen This screen allows you to set a Port VLAN ID number (PVID) for each port. VLAN 1 is the default VLAN. All ports are assigned PVID = 1 when VLANs are enabled. Press APPLY to let the changes take effect. Note: If a port is a member of a trunk group but is not the anchor, the items shown in the above table will be read-only and the values will be the same as those for the anchor port.
