DXS/DWS 3200 Series User Guide Configuring Multicast TV Multicast TV allows subscribers to join the same Multicast stream, even if the subscribers are not members of the same VLAN, eliminating television traffic duplication. Ports which receive Multicast Transmissions, or Receiver Ports, can be defined in any VLAN, and not just in the Multicast VLAN. Receiver ports can only receive Multicast transmissions, they cannot initiate a Multicast TV transmission. Multicast TV source ports must be a Multicast VLAN members. This section contains the following topics: • Defining IGMP Snooping for Multicast TV • Viewing Multicast TV Members Defining IGMP Snooping for Multicast TV IGMP messages are used to indicate which ports are requesting to join or leave the Multicast group.The Multicast TV IGMP Snooping Page page allows network administrators to define IGMP Snooping for Multicast TV groups. To define IGMP Snooping for Multicast TV: 1.
