5 If you are installing a processor, proceed to Step 7. - OR - If you are replacing a processor, loosen the four captive screws on the corners of the heat sink, then twist the heat sink slightly to break the seal between the heat sink and remove it from the processor. Caution Do not force the heat sink from the processor. If you are replacing a processor, loosen the four captive screws on the corners of the
heat sink, then twist the heat sink slightly to break the seal between the heat sink
and remove it from the processor.

Rotate the processor release lever a full 135° to release the processor, then lift the
processor out of the socket.
Caution
Do not force the heat sink from the processor. Doing so could damage
the processor.
