Preboot menu options If an error occurs while the product is booting, an error message appears on the control-panel display. The user can access the Preboot menus. The Error menu item will not be seen if an error did not occur. CAUTION: The Clean Disk option performs a disk initialization for the entire disk. The operating system, firmware files, and third party files (among other files) will be completely lost. HP does not recommend this action. Access the Preboot menu 1. Turn the product on. 2. Press the Stop button when the Ready, Data, and Attention LEDs are illuminated solid. NOTE: The window for accessing the Preboot menu, while the Ready, Data, and Attention LEDs are illuminated solid, is around one second. You can press the button repeatedly while the product is starting up to make you sure you gain access to the Preboot menu. 3. Use the Down arrow button to navigate the Preboot menu options. 4. Press the OK button to select a menu item. Cold reset using the Preboot menu 1. Turn the product on. 2. Press the Stop button when the Ready, Data, and Attention LEDs are illuminated solid. 3. Use the Down arrow button to highlight Administrator, and then press the OK button. 4. Scroll to the Startup Options item, and then press the OK button. 5. Scroll to the Cold Reset item, and then press the OK button. 6. Press the back arrow button twice to highlight Continue, and then press the OK button.
