1. Fan through the pages to remove any staples, paper clips, or sticky notes. 2. Tap the long edge of the pages on a flat surface, then rotate and tap the top edge of the document pages to align the edges of the document pages. 3. Load the pages with the face up and the top edge of the pages into the input tray. NOTE: Do not tap the edge of the document stack or drop the paper stack into the input tray. 4. Slide the paper guides to fit the width of the document. If there is any gap between the paper guides and the edges of the documents, the scanned image might be skewed. NOTE: Make sure not to push the paper guides so tightly as they bend the documents. When loading small documents like checks, place the longest edge parallel to the paper width guides.
