Connect Fibre Channel cables from your SAN media server to the node Fibre Channel host ports, starting with Fibre Channel host port 0 and working towards Fibre Channel host port 3 (Figure 37). Leave the Fibre Channel loopback plug in any unused Fibre Channel host ports. This will prevent you from receiving Fibre Channel notification alerts, which are generated by the VLS when no signal is detected at a Fibre Channel host port.
