Increasing memory 4. Install the DIMM into the memory slot. Note: To avoid damaging the DIMM, do not touch its contact edge. a. Find the notch on the side of the DIMM. b. With the notched end of the DIMM toward the right side of the socket, insert the DIMM, at an angle or approximately 20°, into the socket; then press it firmly (1). c.
