Menu item Print Area Black Only Mode Download Target Job Accounting Resource Save Description Settings Sets the logical and physical printable area Notes: Normal Whole Page • Normal is the default setting. When attempting to print data in the non-printable area defined by the Normal setting, the printer clips the image at the boundary. • The Whole Page setting affects only the pages printed using a PCL 5 emulation interpreter. This setting has no effect on pages printed using the PCL XL emulation or PostScript Emulation. Sets the printer to print in black and white only On Note: Off is the default setting. Off Sets the storage location for downloads RAM Notes: Flash • Storing downloads in flash memory or on a printer hard disk Disk places them in permanent storage. Downloads remain in flash memory or on the printer hard disk even when the printer is turned off. • RAM is the default setting. • Storing downloads in RAM is temporary. Specifies whether or not to store statistical information about the Off most recent print jobs on the printer hard disk On Notes: • The statistics include a record of print errors, the print time, the job size in bytes, the requested paper size and type, the total number of printed pages, and the total number of copies requested. • Job Accounting is only available when a printer hard disk is installed and working properly. It should not be Read/Write or Write protected. Job Buffer Size should not be set to 100%. • Off is the default setting. Off means the printer does not store job statistics. Specifies how the printer handles temporary downloads, such as Off fonts and macros stored in RAM, when the printer receives a job On that requires more memory than is available Notes: • Off is the default setting. Off sets the printer to retain the downloads only until memory is needed. Downloads are deleted in order to process print jobs. • The On setting retains the downloads during language changes and printer resets. If the printer runs out of memory, 38 Memory Full appears. 18
