This key can also be used to listen to the line and fax tones through the speaker when faxing a document (page 86). 2 RESOLUTION / RECEPTION MODE key When a document is in the feeder, press this key to adjust the resolution for faxing or copying (page 84). At any other time, press this key to select the reception mode (the icon of the currently selected reception mode will appear in the display; page 34). 3 FLASH key This key is used for Call Waiting and other special services that require subscription from your phone company. Your phone company will provide you with details on how to use the key. 4 REC/MEMO key Press this key to record an outgoing message, phone conversation, or memo (pages 45, 62, 67 and 68). 5 PLAY/HOLD key Press this key to play recorded messages (page 66). During a phone conversation, press this key to put the other party on hold (page 59). 8

SPEAKER key
Press this key to talk with the other party through the speakerphone during a
call (speak toward “
MIC
” on the operation panel; page 59). This key can also
be used to listen to the line and fax tones through the speaker when faxing a
document (page 86).
RESOLUTION / RECEPTION MODE key
When a document is in the feeder, press this key to adjust the resolution for
faxing or copying (page 84). At any other time, press this key to select the
reception mode (the icon of the currently selected reception mode will appear
in the display; page 34).
FLASH key
This key is used for Call Waiting and other special services that require
subscription from your phone company. Your phone company will provide you
with details on how to use the key.
REC/MEMO key
Press this key to record an outgoing message, phone conversation, or memo
(pages 45, 62, 67 and 68).
PLAY/HOLD key
Press this key to play recorded messages (page 66). During a phone
conversation, press this key to put the other party on hold (page 59).
