Answering System Operating the Answering System Operating the Answering System Activating the answering system To turn on the answering system so that callers can leave messages, press RESOLUTION/ RECEPTION MODE until appears in the display (this selects TAD mode). Note: In TAD mode, the machine will automatically switch to fax reception if it detects 6 seconds of silence after answering a call. For this reason, if a caller pauses for this length of time while leaving a message, they will be cut off. Number of rings in TAD mode When the machine is set to TAD mode, it will answer incoming calls after two rings if it has received at least one message (in any of the boxes), or after four rings if it has not received any messages.
