Symptom Remedy The battery life is short. • The battery life on page 100 is based on playback with the volume level set to 16. The battery life may shorten depending on the operation of the PCM recorder. There is no battery power • Even if you do not use the PCM recorder, the batteries are remaining after you have left consumed slightly. The battery life in this case varies depending on the batteries inserted for long humidity or other environmental conditions. Usually, the batteries time without using the PCM last about 4 months. If you do not intend to use the PCM recorder recorder. for an extended period of time, it is recommended that you turn the power off diligently or remove the batteries (page 16). The battery life of the rechargeable batteries are short. • You are using the rechargeable batteries in an environment with a temperature of under 5 °C. Charge the batteries in an environment with a temperature of 5 °C - 35 °C. • The PCM recorder has not been used for a certain time. Charge and discharge the rechargeable batteries using the PCM recorder several times. • Replace the old ones with new rechargeable batteries. The memory card is not recognized. • Since the memory card may contain image data or other files, the memory required for creating initial folders is insufficient. Use Windows Explorer or other tools to delete unwanted files or initialize the memory card on the PCM recorder (page 30). • Select "Memory Card" for the "Memory" item of the menu (page 36). • Remove a memory card and check the side of the memory card. Then insert it with correct side and direction (page 37). A character in a folder or track name is displayed in unreadable characters. • The PCM recorder cannot support or display some special characters and symbols that are entered on a computer using Windows Explorer or the Macintosh desktop.
