Finding Your Way Around Front with the display open 37 System indicator panel AC power light On/off light Battery light Hard disk drive light Disc/disk activity light Wireless indicator light The system indicator lights are under a tinted panel and are visible only when the feature they represent is either on, or both on and active. The AC power light glows green when the computer is connected to an external power source. The on/off light glows green when the computer is on. The light glows amber when the computer is in Standby mode. The battery light indicates the main battery's current charge. It glows green steadily when the battery is fully charged. It glows amber while the battery is being charged. It does not glow if the external power source is disconnected or if the battery is completely discharged. For more information on determining remaining battery power, see "Monitoring battery power" on page 105. The hard disk drive light flashes green while the hard disk drive is being accessed. The disc/disk activity light flashes green when the DVDROM or the Multifunction drive is being accessed. Wireless indicator light-Glows amber to indicate that a wireless device is currently in use.
