Getting Started Using the computer for the first time 53 CAUTION: Once the battery is charged for the first time, avoid leaving the computer plugged in and turned off for more than a few hours at a time. Continuing to charge a fully charged battery can damage the battery. Using the computer for the first time Opening the display panel Slide the display latch to the right and lift the display panel. Lift Slide Opening the display panel CAUTION: To avoid damaging the display panel, don't force it beyond the point where it moves easily. Never lift or move the computer using the display panel. Turning on the power 1 Check that all the drives are empty. 2 If you have a printer connected to your computer, turn on the printer and wait until the printer indicates that it is ready (on line).
