Operation 10 The COLD START selection screen will appear. COLD START refers to the ability of a UPS to be turned on in battery mode for temporary operation during a power failure. To cold start your UPS, press and hold the ON button until a beep is heard, then release. COLD START DISABLE is available on a one-time basis to prevent unintended startup while the UPS is in storage or transit. Once COLD START is set to DISABLE, the UPS cannot be cold started again until it is connected to an outlet with valid AC output. To DISABLE COLD START for shipping or storage, enter the UPS SETUP menu when the UPS is running in BATTERY MODE and select DISABLE (the cold start option cannot be disabled in other modes). Next, press and hold the OFF button and package the UPS for shipment and storage. Note: COLD START DISABLE cannot be set when the UPS is connected to a live AC receptacle. If COLD START DISABLE is attempted when the UPS is connected to live AC input, the LCD screen will report "WILL BE ENABLED WITH VALID AC" to confirm that the seeting has not been accepted. If COLD START DISABLE is selected as the UPS runs in BATTERY MODE, the UPS will accept the DISABLE setting and automatically reset to ENABLE cold start the next time valid AC input voltage is detected. To Advance to To Change This the Next Screen: Setting: Press SCROLL (v) Press "SELECT" (^) Note: The UPS must be in BATTERY MODE to access COLD START DISABLE. ENABLE* SCROLL SELECT Press "SELECT" (^) to SET this value. Press "SCROLL" (v) to advance to the next option. Available values are: ENABLE, DISABLE Scroll through available values and press SELECT (^) to SET. Factory default = DISABLE 11 The BATTERY TEST selection screen will appear. BATTERY TEST refers to the ability of the UPS to perform regular self-tests of the battery system. During BATTERY TEST operation, the UPS will momentarily cycle to Battery Mode and alert users of potential UPS operational or battery-related fault conditions. The factory configuration of MONTHLY is ideal for most applications. Options for WEEKLY and DISABLE settings are also available. Press "SCROLL" (v) to advance to the next option. Available values are: WEEKLY, MONTHLY, NO TEST Scroll through available values and press SELECT (^) to SET. Factory default = MONTHLY 12 The EXTERNAL BATTERY TYPE selection screen will appear. EXTERNAL BATTERY TYPE refers to the ability of the UPS to become aware of which external battery pack is connected to enhance accuracy of the MINUTES RUNTIME countdown during a power failure. The LCD interface supports the addition of a single external battery pack by selecting the part number of the battery system using the LCD screen. Your UPS system can also be configured for additional battery pack models or multiple battery packs when supported, but these configurations require the use of EXTERNAL BATTERY CONFIGURATION TOOL software available in the support section of http://www.tripplite.com/bpconfig.
