Check size limits Most personal checks in the U. S. use the minimum size requirements. Commercial checks vary in size; however, most are closer to the maximum requirements. Although the above dimensions are limited to U. S. standards, each national standards organization has established the minimum and maximum size documents that are used in their jurisdictions, shown in the following table.
