Telephoning In a hurry?: A Brief Explanation of Important Functions 2.1.6 Querying/Toggling, Transferring Querying and Toggling During one call you may make another call: e. g. to obtain information: GR Z R G T RG To initiate a query: Press the R key. Dial internal or external call number. The first caller is placed on hold and you now may speak with the second caller. You may switch back and forth between calls, speaking alternatively with both callers. To alternate between callers (to toggle): Press the R key (repeat to toggle). To end query: Press the disconnect key. Press the R key. Now you may speak with the first caller again. Transferring a Call to an Internal Participant You may transfer a call to another internal participant with or without advance notice. To do this, you begin by initiating a query connection: GR Z G h Press the R key. Dial the internal call number. The person you are calling will be placed on hold. If the internal participant answers, Inform them that you are transferring a call and replace the handset in the telephone cradle. If the internal participant does not answer, 42
