Telephoning General Functions 2.2.5 Muting Pressing the muting key S deactivates the microphone during a call, and the person at the other end of the line can no longer hear you. Press the key again to switch the microphone back on. 2.2.6 Call-charge Display, Duration Display If your network operator transmits call charge information, and if you have dialled an external number yourself, you will see the current amount of the charge in the Info line during or at the end of a call. The menu item 6 Charge settings in the Phone settings MenuCard lets you deactivate this or switch to the duration display (see also MenuCard "Phone Settings" starting on page 107). 2.2.7 Adjusting the Volume with the Plus/Minus Key Use the plus/minus key = to adjust ■ the volume of the loudspeaker in hands-free/open-listening mode, ■ the volume of the handset during a call via the handset, ■ the volume of the headphone during a call via a headset, ■ or the volume of the ringer tone when you receive a call. When the telephone is in its idle state again, it reverts to the default menu setting. You can change the default setting using the 1 Volume menu item in the Phone settings menu (see also MenuCard "Phone Settings" starting on page 107). 2.2.8 Redialling Pressing the redial key W displays a MenuCard containing the last numbers dialled (with the most recent entry at the top). If a call number is also stored in your system's telephone book, you will see the name as well. 48

Muting
